Unigroup Spreadtrum & Google to work together on GMS Express Program

Unigroup Spreadtrum RDA, a memory chip making firm located in China, has decided to collaborate with Google to support the tech giant’s GMS express initiative. Apparently, Spreadtrum’s product line will complement Google’s newly launched express programs such as Android, Oreo, as well as Android Go configurations.

Some of Unigroup’s executives have reportedly stated that the firm’s partnership with Google will assist Unigroup in providing mobile manufacturers with new embedded features such as pre-certified & highly compatible Android software in their devices. The software, say sources, will support both - the Compatibility Test Suite as well as Google mobile services and is also reported to be offering monthly security upgradations.

Giving his views on the matter, Unigroup’s CEO has also stated that through its association with Google on the GMS tool, the firm wants to offer value-added services to its consumers in the age of drastically altering software technologies such as Android. He further added that the firm is eager to help its customers enhance their product development proficiency & network speed, thereby improving the end-user experience.

For the record, Unigroup Spreadtrum is forecast to be Google’s first SOC (System on Chip) partner in its GMS Express scheme for effectively supporting processors configured by Intel.

According to the Asia One, Google’s GMS Express will guide Unigroup’s ODM (original design manufacturer) and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) end-users in reducing the time span for compatibility verification. The deal is also expected to help Spreadtrum’s clients acquire the latest Android security update along with technical support, thereby limiting the hazards of device intrusion.

Reportedly, the fabless semiconductor major will continue to offer myriad products & services to its customers by integrating its modern manufacturing techniques with exceptional product quality. These collaborations, incidentally, are expected to help in improving the operational efficiency of mobile devices and their security, with the addition of new features, thereby providing end-users with seamless experience.
